Childcare management software provider Xplor has launched a new content platform that will provide both parents and educators with a wide range of free professional guidance and online education resources that can be directly linked to a child’s individual learning journey.
The service, called Home+, is an on-demand service similar to ‘Netflix’, aggregating free content including videos, e-books, tip sheets, and masterclass courses from both leading Australian and international experts in areas such as nutrition, behaviour, communication, sleep, growth, toileting, first-aid, dads/partners and parenting and work.
“Home+ is a sector-first initiative, and we are proud to be using cutting edge technology to improve access to crucial information that will support families in their parenting journeys,” Mark Woodland, Founder and CEO of Xplor Education said.
“With Australia’s best parenting content now available for free, parents will be empowered to enrich their child’s early education. It will also offer early childhood education and care (ECEC) centres another way to build lasting relationships with their families. We can’t wait to bring knowledge as a service to the education sector”
Home+ to align parents with child’s learning and developmental journey more effectively
The new Home+ content platform will be available to parents through the Home App and via an intuitive interface that enables parents to search for content on a range of subjects relevant to them and their children’s educational and developmental journey as well as offer recommendations of relevant content tailored to a child’s needs.
The platform’s content will also be available to early childhood professionals on the Playground App from which they will be able to access the resources and tag and share timely content specific to a child’s individual learning outcomes and development milestones via their daily updates and posts.
“By making Home+ available to educators too, we are empowering them to not just deepen their own understanding of important antenatal and early parenting topics but also encouraging them to share content that is relevant to parents based on their specific interactions with their children in the service,” Mr Woodland said.
“It is this unique aspect of Home+ which makes it so special and why we feel it is such an important addition to the Xplor ecosystem.
Ternity Group to create new range of exclusive resources for Home+ platform
Maternity and early parenting education experts, Ternity Group, who have a long history of supporting parents with evidence-based, engaging and easy to understand resources have agreed as part of their partnership with Home+ to create a suite of exclusive content for the platform as well as provide access to its current substantial library.
“Our organisation was born out of a desire to promote healthy social and emotional development of infants in Australia during their formative years, and we are glad to share our first class, evidence-based health education with such a wide parent audience through Xplor,” Cindy Davenport, Maternal & Child Health Nurse and Clinical Director at Ternity said.
“Ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing rules have meant many new parents are often without the assistance of health professionals or unable to call on extended family for support. Our content helps bridge that gap with reliable and credible education that provides parents with the skills to face parenting challenges.”
“Nourish Baby content resources are designed by health professionals with over 30 years of experience, and some of our most-watched videos include ‘Understanding your baby or toddler’ and ‘Sleep and settling your baby’.”
“I’m confident that these and other programs will be well-received by parents using Home+ and educators using Playground, and we look forward to a continued relationship with Xplor.” Ms Davenport said.
