TEXARKANA, Texas — Texarkana Independent School District’s Afterschool Centers on Education is holding self-care workshops for parents throughout the month of January.
Jennifer Treadway, coordinator of child care services, said the school district wants to help parents take care of themselves while also taking care of their children.
“While raising children and working, we often forget to take time for our well-being,” Treadway said. “
Treadway said the workshop will cover the impact of self-care on a parent and a child, how self-care can look for parents, how to fit it into daily routines and different techniques.
“At the end of our self-care workshops, parents will be provided with a small self-care bag and information with self-care tips and strategies,” Treadway said.
