Help us bring extra smiles to children this holiday season by purchasing gifts for children in the community. All Holiday Hope Chests donated go to our regional nonprofit partners who support youth in the community through their programs and services. This program, coordinated by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley, is a great project for large/small groups, clubs, classes, families, and individuals. American Cancer Society has scheduled the annual Relay For Life Lehigh Valley event on Saturday, June 3rd from 2-10 p.m. at The Promenade Shops, Saucon Valley. Our monthly Planning Committee (second Tuesday, 7-8 p.m.) is in need of help with: Social Media (this is a remote volunteer position), Luminaria Lead/ Team, Kids Tent Lead, and Communication Lead. Welcome visitors to the Kemerer Museum and provide information about museum tour opportunities while keeping a watchful eye over the exhibits. Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites greeters also share general information about the exhibits and help answer visitor questions. Request at least 2 shifts per month, generally 3-4 hours, 11a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday-Sunday; 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Thursday-Sunday during Christmas season. Minimum age 16. Assemble Luminaria kits consisting of candles, sand, and paper bags for New Bethany Ministries at Center Valley Parkway in Center Valley for various weekdays and Saturdays through December 10. This is a great opportunity for employee, social, or faith-based and other community groups to volunteer together. Adult supervision required for volunteers under 16. Drivers are needed to take seniors or disabled clients grocery shopping and/or to medical appointments. Mileage reimbursement available and excess automobile insurance provided by ShareCare Faith in Action. Must submit to a criminal background check and attend an orientation training. Stanley Llama and the pigs, goats, horses, ponies, alpacas, and other animals would love to meet you! The Gress Mountain Ranch in Orefield needs volunteers to assist with their daily feeding and watering. Small groups also needed to help with grounds maintenance, composting, and cleaning of stalls.
