The McCook Chamber of Commerce recently sponsored a ribbon cutting ceremony for Bee Little Childcare and Preschool. The business, owned by Amanda and Josh Mullen, opened approximately three years ago, and has two locations in McCook. The original location is as 409 West Q Street in McCook directly north of McCook Elementary School.
The business recently expanded to add a second location, taking over space at Hillcrest Nursing Home that previously housed a child care facility. That location is referred to as Bee Little on the Hill.
Between the two locations, Bee Little employs approximately 25 people and provides much needed child care and preschool for over 150 children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years. They do accept state subsidies.
Bee Little Director Dahlci Brush said that they have had a huge influx of children and are looking to hire more staff members.
Brush said Bee Little on the Hill also has a preschool curriculum, and the West Q Street location runs a curriculum for the three-year-olds with a variety of activities throughout the day. She said they are developing a curriculum for toddlers.
Bee Little is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Their location across from the elementary school provides convenience for parents of school-aged children, as Bee Little staff walks students over to the child care facility every day after school.
