Ms. Hollis Veronica Jackson, affectionately known as Ron, was born on June 8, 1967, to Mr. Alex James Willis and Ms. Elouise Grandberry Willis. She was the youngest child.
Hollis accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church, Madison, MS, under the leadership of the late Rev. B. N. Stevenson. Hollis enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to various gospel artists. Hollis educational upbringing began in Madison County Schools. She graduated from Madison Ridgeland High School in Madison, MS in May 1985. She continued her studies at Holmes Community College in Ridgeland, MS where she received an Associates of Arts Degree in Sociology. After Holmes, she furthered her education at Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, MS. Hollis took pride in her studies and loved representing Mississippi Valley State University. She was a hardworking spirit living woman who lived every day of her life to the fullest. Hollis possessed a passion for teaching and taking care of children. She worked as an assistant teacher in the Madison County School District for seven years. Upon leaving Madison County, she held various childcare professional positions at many well-known daycare centers throughout Madison County leaving a lasting impression upon every child.
Hollis departed this earthly life at home on September 3, 2022, in Madison, MS.
Hollis is preceded in death by her son, James Versell Willis, and a sister Shirley Jean Jones.
Hollis leaves to cherish her loving memories with her parents: Alex (Ruby) Willis and Elouise Grandberry Willis; one son, Alex Grayson Jackson; two sisters: Phyllis (Joe) Cotten and, Thelma (Ricky) Harden; five step-siblings, Cedric Collum, Renado Wilkerson, Dexter Wilkerson, DeAnthony Wilkerson, Shalonda Wilkerson; her aunts, Hattie Dolly, Joanne (Johnny) Davis, Minnie Davis, Sarah Luckett, Patricia (Clifton) Brown, Jackie (Charles) Fisher, and Janet (Steven) Brooks; one uncle, James (Rosie) Jefferson Sr; thirteen very special nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Hollis Veronica Jackson will be forever missed and cherished. Until we meet again in our Heavenly Father s arms.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Rest M. B. Church, 852A Madison Ave, Madison, Mississippi with her Final Resting Place being Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 729 Gluckstadt Rd, Gluckstadt, Mississippi.
