Davidson Cornelius Child Development breakfast is Oct. 7

Sept. 20. After a COVID hiatus, the Davidson-Cornelius Child Development Center’s annual fundraising breakfast is back. It will be held Friday Oct. 7 at 8:30 am at the Davidson College Presbyterian Church Congregation House, 218 Concord Road.

The DCCDC mission is to provide high-quality, affordable early education without regard to race, ethnicity, religion or socioeconomic status, as well as embrace and foster diversity in a safe learning environment.

It’s a sweet, community-based event. To RSVP, click here; deadline is Sept. 28. To donate, click here.

The school was founded in 1969 in response to a fire that claimed the lives of three children whose mother had no access to child care—she left them at home while she worked outside the home to support them. Ever since the fire, the DCCDC has been a galvanizing force, bringing together members of our community from all races and economic backgrounds.
